Phi Phi Islands
The Phi Phi islands are located
in Thailand between Phuket island and the western Andaman sea. The Phi Phi
islands are the part of Krabi province and the Phi Phi Don is the largest
island of the group. Furthermore, this island is the only island that have
permanent inhabitants. The second largest island is Koh Phi Phi Lee which has
many wonderful beaches. However, the rest of the islands in Phi Phi islands
groups are just the limestone rocks which no people live there.
Many tourists
visit Thailand to go to the beaches which Phi Phi islands have become the most
popular choice for foreigners. Ko Phi Phi is a popular place for diving and
snorkeling, kayaking and other marine recreational activities. The islands
feature beaches and clear water that have had their natural beauty protected by
National Park status. Tourism on Ko Phi Phi, like the rest of Krabi province,
has exploded recently. In the early 1990s only the most adventurous travelers
visited the island, staying in only the most basic accommodation. Nowadays,
however, the place has turned into one of the major destinations for visitors
to Krabi.
The Phi Phi
islands have many interesting attractions that the visitors should go such as
Maya Bay, Phi Phi viewpoint, Bamboo island and Laem Tong beach. For example,
Laem Tong Beach in northern Phi Phi that is ideal for a relaxing and quiet
holiday. The only access to the main part of Phi Phi is by boat and this means
that you have almost total seclusion there. The atmosphere is quite the opposite
of Tonsai Village.
Moreover, Right in front of the beach are Bamboo Island, Mosquito
Island and Hin Klang, three of the best spots for snorkeling, diving and
windsurfing. There is warm water and consistent wind which is excellent place
for windsurfing.
